Walter “Wally” Wilkes brings over 22 years of architectural and construction experience to each project. His experience in construction and construction document development adds depth and quality management to the work of Edward Tucker Architects, Inc. His background includes a long history of experience in Healthcare and Educational projects.
Born and raised in Logan, West Virginia, Wally served in the United States Navy from 1971-1973 aboard the USS Ponce LPD-15. He then attended Marshall University’s College of Fine Arts, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. The next twenty years were spent working at four architectural firms throughout the Tri-State area, gaining the technical and design expertise to become licensed as an architect in 1996.
In 2001 Wally began working at Edward Tucker Architects, Inc. as a Senior Architect, managing projects such as the First Bank of Charleston and various departmental renovations at Cabell Huntington Hospital, among others. Wally’s dedication to quality and ability to communicate through drawing makes him a valued member of the firm.
Wally has served as Treasurer and Director of the West Virginia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He resides in Milton with his wife Antonia and daughter Mary Frances.
